Generally, new steel drums for bitumen vary based on factors such as bitumen volume, height, thickness, and lid. New Steel Drum Classification

Drums can be classified into four different types according to their height: long new steel drum, short new steel drum, short new steel drum with a big lid, and long new steel drum with a 200 kg capacity. The most widely used type is the long new steel drum, chosen by more than 80% of our customers. These steel drums vary in terms of net weight, height, and body thickness. The most common body thickness according to standards is 0.6 mm. Each drum has its own specifications, which are essential to know before purchasing your bitumen. Long New Steel Drum

The capacity of a long new steel drum is 180 kg (±2.5 kg) of bitumen. 110 long new steel drums can fill a 20-foot container, and the total cargo weighs about 20 tons (±5%). The empty drum weight is 9.5 kg. Below are the specifications of the long new steel drum:

Short New Steel Drum

The short new steel drum has a capacity of 150 kg (±2.5 kg) of bitumen. It is the most popular in Asian countries like Bangladesh and Indonesia. 110 short new steel drums, weighing 16.5 tons (±5%), can fill a 20-foot container.
